This is the first nickel and iron product produced by Giant Nickel since Indonesian President Joko Widodo attended the opening ceremony of the company on April 27. Planuojama, kad per metus pagaminama 1,8 mln. tonų nikelio geležies gamybos linija, įrengta elektrinė, dokas ir kiti pagalbiniai įrenginiai. Joko gyrė projektą už pridėtinę vertę Indonezijos' pramonei, kuriant darbo vietas ir sukuriant galimybes labai mažoms, vidutinėms ir mažoms įmonėms. Joko sakė, kad Geodun' lydyklos statyba Indonezijoje labai padidino Indonezijos' nikelio pramonės pridėtinę vertę. Jis sako, kad pridėtinė vertė yra 14 kartų didesnė, kai nikelio rūda paverčiama geležimi, arba 19 kartų didesnė, kai ji perdirbama į nerūdijantį plieną.
